Job Summary

Public Allies Metro Detroit is an AmeriCorps program in partnership with University of Michigan-
Dearborn. University of Michigan seeks to hire temporary employees to fill this position.

Public Allies are members from the community interested in social change and transformation. Public Allies will work with nonprofits in Detroit to help build and expand organizational capacity. Public Allies will have a range of responsibilities including community organizing, capacity building, community engagement, needs assessments, creating partnerships, collaborating with other organizations, assisting with community programming, and other community based projects. Public Allies will also be required to participate in leadership and development training. Duties will vary depending on the needs and mission of the nonprofit organization. Public Allies are members of the AmeriCorps program, Public Allies Metro Detroit.

Required Qualifications*

High School Diploma or GED

Pay: Stipend

Hours: 40 hours per week some nights and weekends necessary
