University of Michigan's Temporary Staffing Services is searching for Temporary OR Instrument Processors for various Health System departments. In accordance with UMHS, AORN, AAMI and industry standards to decontaminate, prepare, sterilize and/or distribute sterile processed items.
Decontaminate instrument following industry standards and other proccessable items and equipment. AAMI/AORN
Assembly, packages, and prepares instruments/instrument sets and other re-usable items
Performs sterilization tasks including:
Pasteurization (site dependent)
Safely operates and is competent in the operation of all department equipment
Follow policies for sterilization testing and monitoring and accurately documents including BIs, Challenge test etc)
Brings any and all matters questioning processing sterilization to attention of management.
Handles and disturbed processes items according to practices for site (example: case carts)
Other duties as assigned
Must have completed a recognized and accredited Sterile Processing program. Must have at least externship experience as a Processor. BLS certification a plus.
M-F with rotating weekends. Shifts vary. Position lasts 179 days from start date.
