Responsibilities*

Ensure all guests' needs are met in a friendly and efficient manner.

Ensure necessary preparation and ingredient knowledge of the menu items for each event including, hors d'ourves, salads, dressings, wines, entrees, side dishes, and desserts.

Ensure "Standards of Service" as discussed in every pre-event meeting.

Review proper documentation and ensure compliance with all Liquor Laws and University Alcohol policies.

Serve, clear and properly maintain service areas at all times in a timely manner.

Provide information and feedback to Catering Manager or Supervisor for event reports.

As needed, provide necessary documentation as instructed by Catering Manager (e.g. valid driver's license, TAM certification, educational registration materials).

Clean assigned areas of work and equipment including tables, countertops, sweep & mop floors.

Place dirty china and glassware in appropriate rakes and take to the dishwasher.

Return rental linens per departmental guidelines.

Empty and remove garbage.

Report any concerns or issues directly to Catering Manager in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Required Qualifications*

Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting heavy trays, bending, reaching, etc.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the entire shift.

Must be able to follow  instructions.

Excellent customer service skills including a positive & energetic attitude (smile and be attentive to all guests).

Desired Qualifications*

Previous Restaurant, Food Service and/or Bartending experience.
