Job Summary

Department of Radiology is seeking a fellowship trained vascular interventional radiologist.  The VIR division provides service at the University Hospital, Frankel Cardiovascular Center (FCVC), Ann Arbor Veteran’s Affairs Hospital and University of Michigan Mott Children’s & Women’s Hospital. Our vascular interventional radiologists perform the entire gamut of image guided minimally invasive procedures with strong emphasis on vascular, oncologic, transplant, hepatobiliary and pediatric IR services. The VIR-faculty are engaged in all facets of image guided intervention including aortic disease, PAD, venous disease, pulmonary disease, interventional oncology, vertebroplasty, peripheral skeletal bone ablation and cement augmentation, visceral tumor ablation, advanced portal hypertension and transplant interventions in children and adults. The VIR-division is a clinic-based practice and faculty are integrally involved in multidisciplinary tumor boards, portal hypertension clinics, vascular clinics, and transplant boards. The VIR-division at the university hospital uses eight angiography suites; of which 5 are for visceral and non-vascular interventions (including a combined CT-angiography room and two additional rooms with cone-beam CT capability) and 3 biplane neuro-interventional rooms. The Ann Arbor veterans’ affairs hospital, the largest VA in the state of Michigan, has two state-of-the-art angiography suites and a dedicated procedural CT scanner.  The FCVC and Mott Children’s Hospital have 2 and 1 angiography suite, respectively.

Academic activity, productivity and clinical experience are highly valued as is a commitment to teaching and working in a collaborative environment.  The division is currently composed of 12 VIR-physicians, 10 physician extenders and 6 VIR fellows in addition to the newly approved IR-residency.

Required Qualifications*

M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., board certified in Radiology, hold or have the ability to obtaint he appropriate medical licenses in the state of Michigan.  Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
