The right candidate will serve as a technician in support of a principal Investigator whose research focuses on adrenal diseases, particularly hormone excess syndromes and adrenal tumors. The principal investigator appreciates a commitment to scientific learning and motivation to manage tasks/projects independently. The position is ideally suited for graduates that are interested in pursuing a further scientific career who strive for more research experience.
The selected candidate is expected to conduct experiments under the close guidance with the current laboratory manager and principal investigator. A broad spectrum of methods of laboratory techniques will be used, including basic molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, transfection, and cell culture. The selected candidate will be responsible for accurate scientific research, documentation of results, and evaluation/analysis of data and other lab duties as assigned. The candidate will also assume organizational control of our bank of frozen tissues and cells. The candidate will also assist in the day-to-day maintenance of an active research laboratory through stocking and ordering supplies as well as training incoming students and fellows.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-1 year of experience in laboratory research and techniques. Experience should include working with cell culture. Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a scientific background. Excellent organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
