Responsibilities*

CVC 5 is a 24 bed intermediate care unit that provides care to Cardiovascular Surgery and Interventional Cardiology patients. The unit has a family centered approach surrounding education and resources and provides private rooms for all patients. Nurses care for patients with titratable drips, arterial lines and cardiac monitoring. Staff has the ability to work 8 and 12 hour shifts or a combination. The RN will work with ICU technicians (Assistive personnel) offering the best care possible for families and patients.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C (Includes B).
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Required Qualifications*

Current RN license
BLS certification
Exhibits professional communication skills and behaviors

GN applicants will be considered. The selected candidate must have successfully passed the NCLEX and be licensed as a RN in the State of Michigan before effective date of hire.

Desired Qualifications*

BSN preferred
1 year of cardiovascular patient experience or relevant skills, including at least one of the following: Vascular Surgery/Medicine, Cath lab, Cardiac Medicine, Telemetry.

Experience with arterial lines
Titrating hemodynamic medications
Accepts and offers open feedback
Practices Patient Family Centered Care

Work Schedule

Hours: 24 hours
Shift: Evening shift, 8 hour shifts and every other weekend
Location:  Cardiovascular Center- CVC 5

Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
