Supervise, train and assist staff responsible for the front counter operations of the Office of the Registrar. Plan and coordinate work & front counter coverage; assist with troubleshooting customer service issues; coordinate & assign special projects. Ensure transactions by all staff are performed in compliance with applicable University, federal and state policies and procedures.
Supervise and oversee manual and automated enrollment certification and transcript processes. Manage and monitor transmission of data to third parties such as the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and the Michigan Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) and others. Act as liaison regarding transcript services, verifications, Student tracker and future NSC partnerships.
Prepare reports that may include requests from Ann Arbor, State of Michigan (UIC), football tickets, and special emails. Assist with nightly jobs/queries and daily error report resolution. Assist with Banner upgrades, work tickets, testing & troubleshooting. Oversee special student group registrations, i.e. Fast Track CIS, English Language Program, etc.; process group overload requests; monitor MCC2UMF registrations.
Oversee the processing of reports to identify duplicate sections, 2nd 7-week semester drops, pdl reports, major changes for secondary application programs i.e., Nursing, Social Work, School of Management, etc. Assist with the hiring, training and evaluating Registrar staff, prepare annual evaluations & recommend pay increases & status changes.
Create queries & reports for the Registrar’s Office in WebFocus & Info Assist.
Assist with the evaluation of the effectiveness of specific functions within the Registrar’s Office; recommend organizational changes, policy & procedures revision & new equipment & software applications. Act as Registrar representative on Implementation Committee & other committees as assigned. Assist in the development, revision and implementation of academic & administrative policies. Assist in the development of the departmental budget. Coordinate the maintenance of documentation & resource information. Assist with the maintenance of Registrar’s website; Interpret academic regulations & policies to students, faculty and staff; Coordinate the activities of the Registrar’s Office with other University departments. Handle the duties of the Registrar in the Registrar’s absence.

Bachelor’s Degree required.
4-6 years of relevant office experience required.
Experience in Registrar work highly preferred.
Familiarity with Banner, DegreeWorks, and National Student Clearinghouse preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage technical or automated business processes and staff. Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, WebFocus, query & database design.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to deliver clear and informative email, reports and presentations.
Ability to delegate, set clear direction and manage work flows. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities.
Ability to train, develop, monitor, assess and provide feedback to staff.
Demonstrated ability to critically review business processes and develop initiatives and process improvements which support the university mission. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and recognize when an issue requires escalation; train staff in recognizing issues that require escalation.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others to achieve desired results.
