Administrative Specialist Associate
The Department of Surgery invites qualified individuals to apply for a full-time position as a Qualitative Researcher at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This position will have responsibilities to support the mission of the Department of Surgery and the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy at the University of Michigan, specifically by supporting qualitative research currently ongoing in the Department of Surgery and to develop an independent research program.
- Provide integrated qualitative research design and analysis as needed by current faculty
- Build data collection systems and facilitate access and analysis of qualitative data
- Train and mentor other faculty, research fellows and students in qualitative research methods
- Establish an independent research program, secure external funding, publish and present results
The successful candidate will be a PhD with experience with qualitative techniques including interviewing and conducting focus groups, qualitative data analysis, and experience with qualitative analysis software. A record of scholary activity - successful acquisition of external funding, a record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant scientific journals, and a record of presentations, invited talks and/or seminars is also required.
Individuals with experience in health services research, and interviewing or conducting focus groups with patients or providers will be preferred.
This position is posted as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon candidate's qualifications.
