Responsibilities*

Responsibilities may include:

responding knowledgeably to inquiries from people walking into the Student Success Center office and helping students connect to appropriate resources.

answering phone calls and responding knowledgeably to inquiries from people calling the Student Success Center office and connecting with the appropriate resource. Must feel comfortable and represent UM-Flint as a student professional on the telephone. Responsibilities may also include placing phone calls to students from a list provided to you and updating information in Microsoft Outlook and retrieving voice messages.

updating Student Success Center bulletin boards and digital displays.

keeping the lobby and bookcases in the Student Success Center well-stocked with useful information.

cleaning countertops, desktops, computer keyboards and screens, phones and office equipment in the Work Area, Placement Testing rooms and Front Desk.

keeping printers stocked with paper and keeping shredder emptied and pencils sharpened.

ensuring all appropriate materials throughout the office are shredded on a consistent basis.

organizing and maintaining the department's physical storage areas and inventories, including helping to maintain an updated inventory of office computers, laptops and printers.

being an expert on the www.umflint.edu/studentsuccess website and looking for ways to make using the Student Success Center website easier, more pleasant and more engaging for visitors.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

Must be a current UM-Flint student and have been awarded work-study funds for Winter 2017.

Desired Qualifications*

Outgoing personality. Customer service extraordinaire.

The ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently, work independently, be eager and willing to learn, and will not hesitate to ask questions.
