Job Summary

The Office of Academic Innovation is recruiting Course Operations Liaisons for multiple courses, representing a variety of disciplines. For detailed course descriptions, please see link to listings below. Help advance digital education at the University of Michigan by working with the Office of Digital Education & Innovation to monitor and support massive open online courses (MOOCs) on platforms such as Coursera and edX. Course Operations Liaisons assist faculty in the development and management of online courses. Additionally, they provide oversight of course websites and related resources, with special attention to learner support and issues arising in discussion forums, while closely monitoring course websites.

Educational value of this job

This position pays $15/hour for 10 hours per week of work performed primarily remotely.

Required Qualifications*

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Comfortable working on tight deadlines, and juggling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work autonomously

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience

  • Basic understanding of course design and underlying pedagogical principles

  • Experience working in higher education, particularly in roles supporting faculty

  • Working knowledge of basic HTML code
