Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Office of Compliance by serving as a subject matter expert on health care-related compliance topics, maintaining compliance to applicable laws, regulations and policies, by writing and reviewing internal policies and procedures, through the development of training aids, and maintaining a culture of compliance.  The Compliance Specialist will have a focus on OID/COI management, HIPAA, Data Privacy, General Standards of Conduct, FDR requirements, and FWA regulations.  The Compliance Specialist will report to the Directory of Regulatory Compliance.


  • Support the organization's culture of compliance.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on areas of focus, including COI, Open Payments, HIPAA, research, and general standards of conduct.
  • Support the compliance team on FDR and FWA related matters, including sanction checks, leasing, non-monetary compensation, gifting, and general compliance matters.
  • Respond to customer requests for guidance from the compliance support lines, including the hotline.
  • Investigate and address alleged violations of regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Develop business processes documentation, training aids, and lead training initiatives.
  • Prepare and update policies, guidelines, procedures, and processes for compliance program.
  • Maintain proficiency in applicable regulations, standards, guidelines and trends in health law.
  • Carry a caseload of assigned special projects and assist the compliance team in completing its work plan objectives.
  • Support the corporate compliance committee in focused-related areas, including drafting communications, facilitating meetings, and maintaining agendas/minutes and other programmatic requirements.

Required Qualifications*

  • 1-4 years of related experience.
  • Robust writing & organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research, writing and advocacy.
  • Proficient at interpreting and applying statues, regulations, and policies to situations
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Robust capacity to multitask.

Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree in health sciences, health policy, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.


Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience in a position and organization with similar responsibilities and qualifications.
  • Advanced degree in health law policy and administration focused discipline.
