Assists with the Development and Implementation of strategic initiatives related to physician engagement and network development, clinical product line(s) and/or specific program(s) referral growth, and the engagement and maintenance of business relationships with targeted hospitals and health care leaders, community partners, employers, payers and other relevant parties. Typically, this is accomplished by leading professional teams of high functioning physicians and administartors from both within and external to the UMHS addressing sensitive/confidential situations.
Works directly with the Business Development manager (Contract Officer Lead), Associate Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, to assist with the development of major unit strategic plans, manage their ongoing refinement and assist leadership in its implementation.
Collaborates with the UMHS physician and hospital leaders to assist with the alignment of enterprise-level business strategy with program unit/department specific goals including the research and teaching missions.
Assists with maret intelligence and guidelines to UMHS leaders on a regular basis related to local, regional, statewide and national areas of current and prospective needs.
Master Degree or comparable work experience (Business, Healthcare, Public Administration). 10 years work experience in Strategic business development experience @ Academic Medical Center. Strong project management skills, able to arrange complex multi stakeholder processes, be a consensus builder and decision maker. Strong understanding of local and regional healthcare markets and the ability to recognize future needs and opportunities. Leadership skills to demonstrate ability to manage professional teams.
This position reports to the Business Development Manager who will oversee and direct with the strategic alignment and implementation of the complex multi stakeholder processes. Important to have several years of University of Michigan experience with policies and procedures.
