Job Summary

Seeking University of Michigan-Dearborn Students

The Early Childhood Education Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking assistance with the nutrition, snack planning, and delivery of food to eight pre-school classrooms.  


Plan healthy, nutrious and age appropriate snacks that are inline with both the Child and Adult Care Food Program (Federal Government) and Great Start Readiness Program.  Engage with teachers to create special lessons regarding nutrition.  Be continually mindful of children's allergans and food restrictions.  Create and track food orders, maintain inventory, and while sustaining fiscal resources.  Prepare and deliver snacks to classrooms.  Keep work area clean and sanitized in accordance with child care licensing regulations.  Interact with children and parents during lunch drop off.

Excellent communicaton skills:  ability to read english with comprehension, listen effectively, speak and write clearly, and acurately follow written and oral instructions, including job routines, recipe directions, and precautions on chemical product labels.

Ability to rotate stock using first in first out methods, including and identifying and discarding expired products.

Experience estimating consumption levels.

Abilty to utilze resouces responsibly, recognize and minimize food waste.

Ability to multitask at a fast pace.

Ability to work independantly and in group settings.

Excellent attendance history.
