This 15 hour/wk position will serve as the MCSP Coordinator of Community Service-Learning. Responsibilities include: advising the community service board, and affiliated groups such as SHOCK, Smile Bringer Singers, and WolveReaders, training and supervising student leader Peer Advisors, oversee service clubs for community engagement, oversee protocols for community participation, facilitate one-time community projects and MCSP’s ASB trip, support faculty community projects, build and sustain community partnerships, coordinate MCSP social justice film series. In addition, coordinator will on occasion assist on project such as development, internships, monitor student compliance with MCSP course requirements, and support the director and associate director on special projects as needed.
These responsibilities are to be undertaken with direction and supervision from the Director and Associate Director of MCSP. The position runs from approximately August 1, 2017 to May 15, 2018. Flexible work hours include days, evenings and weekends.
Bachelor’s Degree. Commitment to MCSP mission, leadership experience, demonstrated experience working with students, particularly underrepresented students, experience in mentoring or advising, experience organizing programs and doing intergroup relations work, experience with dialogue preferred, good interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills, ability to work effectively with supervisors, faculty, staff, and students; experience in residential learning community preferred.
