8B is an Adult Medical Telemetry Unit. Nurses on this unit utilize the nursing process to provide primary care to the complex medicine patient who may require telemetry monitoring while hospitalized. We provide world class care for the patient and the patient's family using a team approach.

Nursing Specific Info
Condition of hire for Graduate Nurses: Selected GN must successfully pass N-CLEX and be licensed as an RN in the state of Michigan no later than 45 days from date of hire.
Current Michigan RN license.
***GN applicants will be considered. The selected candidate must have successfully passed the NCLEX and be licensed as a RN in the State of Michigan before effective date of hire.

One (1) or more years of Medical/Surgical/Telemetry experience preferred
Desire to work with the adult medical patient population
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation skills, and problem-solving skills.
Hours: 36hrs/week (0.9) , 12hr shifts
Shift: Nights / Every other weekend
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
Salary and Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C, includes B.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
