Job Summary

The Office of Admissions and Orientation seeks a talented, motivated, and experienced individual to serve as a key new member of the team dedicated to advancing the University’s enrollment growth goals.  The individual would join a professional, fast-paced and cohesive environment where work feels like a second home. 

Under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director, the systems analyst would support the critical, ongoing work of advancing and managing the technological processes that drive the undergraduate admission and orientation functions of the office.  Responsibilities include the creation, implementation, maintenance, performance, production support, and documentation of the Student Information System (Ellucian’s Banner) and its extensions related to Recruitment, Admissions, and Orientation.  Extensions include MS Access, WebFocus, ImageNow, UC4/Atomic, Docufide, Cappex, National Student Clearinghouse, and a CRM.  Systems Analyst would work closely with supervisor to determine the technological needs of the organization to then design and implement systems to meet business goals.

Responsibilities*

  • Understand current processes/issues/solutions related to Ellucian and peripheral systems
  • Ability to research and analyze existing and new technologies to determine ways to enhance processes and advance the office
  • Reporting
    • Use reporting tools and programming languages to design and develop reports
    • Provide end-user operational support and satisfy ad hoc requests for data
    • Create Data Set
    • Convert MS Access reports to WebFocus
    • Analyze current reports and additional data reporting needs, then design consistent, thorough dashboards and reporting suites
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and errors encountered by users
  • Maintain and enhance existing solutions and document changes
  • Collaborate with Senior Associate Director on projects similar to the following:
    • Continual analysis of available technology to streamline processes and efficiently utilize office personnel
    • CEEB Code match and design
    • CRM implementation and maintenance
    • Utilize UC4/Atomic for scripts and letter generation
    • Research, test and setup SIS upgrade: Banner XE
    • Banner updates/testing, and research/development
    • Awareness of Banner defects, corrections and roadmap
    • Routine testing of current systems
    • Tape load setup review (and related Banner forms)
    • Set up load for CAPPEX leads and Docufide transcripts
    • Research load for Banner school catalogs
    • Research automatic decisions, territory management, appointment scheduling, and communication manager in Banner
    • Research transfer articulation options
    • ImageNow indexing and review
    • Prepare for imaging upfront
    • Other projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; high school diploma and commensurate experience at minimum
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office software
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented office environment
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and attention to detail skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and enthusiasm, as well as respect for individuals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a high-producing team
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all audiences
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the needs and expectations of college students and enthusiasm to support them

Desired Qualifications*

  • Ellucian (Banner) SIS experience preferred
  • Technical experience with any/all of the following: WebFocus, ImageNow, UC4/Atomic, Docufide, Cappex, and National Student Clearinghouse
  • General understanding of college recruiting, admissions, and orientations and the technologies and processes that support them
