Job Summary

Provides support to nursing staff in the delivery of patient and family-centered care. Performs 'guest relation' function that assures the highest standard of care for the patient and family. Facilitates the daily operations of the nursing unit. Ensures an organized and safe environment for patient care. Promotes the personal comfort and convenience of patients and families. Facilitates communication between patients/families and the health care staff to provide a seamless inpatient experience. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.





  • Facilitate and conduct unit tours,

  • Assist with admission process. I.e. welcome patient/families to room, address any questions r/t way finding, phones, TV service.

  • Routine rounding to ensure the comfort of patients and families.

  • Run errands for patients and families.

  • Assist with the nourishment needs of patients, i.e., set up food trays, orient family to menu selection process, assist patients with room service process.

  • Direct families during an emergency, i.e., displaced roommates, traffic control.

  • Assist with transfer and /or discharge process, i.e, supplies, movement of bed, patient belongings.

  • Perform patient attendant functions as needed.

  • Respond to call lights.

Required Qualifications*


  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Experience in a customer service related field.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to walk, stand, lift, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications*

  • 1 year of experience within acute health care setting

  • Basic computer skills

Work Schedule

Weekends may be required

10 hour shifts
