Job Summary

The Stamps School of Art & Design Pre-College Program is looking for a dedicated and responsible student to join our staff this summer as Pre-College Assistant (PCA).

The Pre-College Assistant plays a critical role in the success of the STAMPS Pre-College Program. The PCA will work directly with the Pre-College Program Coordinator. The PCA leads our Resident Assistants and helps to manage all the scheduled activities of our Pre-College participants. The PCA will help to address the needs of our RAs and Pre-College participants and will be responsible for communicating all needs directly to the Pre-College Program Coordinator. The PCA will help to coordinate special events with the Pre-College Program Coordinator. The PCA may be responsible for arranging pick-ups and drop-offs of Pre-College participants at the airport.

The PCA must live on North Campus throughout the duration of each program and thus will have room and board provided at Bursley Hall during each program. The PCA engages with and mentors all student participants. The PCA is responsible for enforcing both University of Michigan policy and STAMPS Pre-College rules and protocols.

The PCA is responsible for the health and safety of all participants and work in concert with all other Pre-College staff to cultivate a supportive and creative learning environment.  The PCA observes the Pre-College Program schedule and work to ensure all student participants are safe and accounted for at all times during their residency in Ann Arbor.

We are looking for a Pre-College Assistant for BFA Preview and Portfolio Prep, our two residential Pre-College programs this summer. Please note that this position is time demanding and PCA will be “on call” throughout most of the program.
