The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is currently seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to work in its busy Cardiac Procedures Unit Cardiac Catherization Laboratory. This position is located at the Cardiovascular Center, Cardiac Procedures Unit, CVC Floor 2A.
- Primary job responsibilities consist of a diverse role of monitoring, circulating, and scrubbing on a patient population with known or suspected congenital or acquired cardiac and peripheral disease.
- Diagnostic as well as interventional cardiac, structural heart and peripheral procedures will be performed.
- Candidate will be expected to participate in research protocols.
- Candidate will be expected to participate and have a role in peer to peer teaching and/or in-servicing.
- On call time is required.
- Candidate must exhibit ability to critically think and perform technically difficult emergency care with devices such as Tandem Heart, Impella, IntraAortic Balloon Pump, Angiojet, Optical Coherence Tomography, and Intravascular Ultrasound once proper orientation is completed.
- Candidate must also exhibit an ability to critically think and perform successfully in structural heart procedures once proper orientation is completed.
- Candidate has obtained and maintained RCIS certification.
- Or candidate must be eligible for RCIS exam as a graduate of an accredited program in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology with the RCIS exam being successfully completed within one year of hire.
- Or Candidate has obtained an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiography with at least 1-2 years of diagnostic general imaging experience and (ARRT) advanced certification for Cardiac Interventional (CI) is required within 2 years of hire.
- Or candidate is a graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to: cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) with the RCIS exam being successfully completed within two years of hire.
- AND ACLS certification required with 6 months of hire.
- Understands and demonstrates the core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including: Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.
- Experience with structural heart procedures.
- Experience with surgical instruments and sterile technique.
- Existing ARRT with advanced certification for CV, VI.
40 hours per week. (4) Day/Evening shifts.
On call required with a 30-minute response time.
