Responsibilities*

Senior Level:

Under general direction, formulates and defines standardized, repeatable, well­ documented and managed IT Service Management process/procedures based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business practice and industry requirements. Analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and make well­ thought out recommendations to management with appropriate supporting materials.

Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the processes to the current and future IT business environment.  Understand IT concepts and structures in order to build and maintain effective and efficient IT processes in the supporting tool.

Devises and modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.

Determine, develop, manage and monitor key performance indicators to baseline and continue to assess the effectiveness of the IT Service Management processes.

Ensures assigned processes integrate seamlessly with other relevant process areas. Collaborates, guides and advises less-experienced Business Systems Analysts.

Intermediate Level:

Under some direction, understands and defines standardized, repeatable, well-documented and managed IT Service Management process/procedures based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business practice and industry requirements. 

Competent to learn and understand most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the processes to the current and future IT business environment.  Understands IT concepts and structures in order to build and maintain effective and efficient IT processes in the supporting tool.

Ability to learn and understand process and procedures developed to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Includes the ability to understand business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and how they translation into proper system requirement specifications.

Understand key performance indicators that are used to baseline and continue to assess the effectiveness of the IT Service Management processes.

Collaborates with Senior Level Business Systems Analysts.

Required Qualifications*

Senior Level
  • A Bachelor's degree or better in computer science, information systems or a related field, including business information systems course work and at least 5 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of ITIL or other best-practice framework used to deliver IT products and services.
  • Requires a combination of strong technical background/knowledge and excellent people.
  • Skills and verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Basic understanding of Project management and business systems analysis methodologies/best practices.
  • Basic understanding on delivery and support of enterprise class systems and support of the end-user community.

Intermediate Level:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, including business information systems course work and 1 – 3 years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 
  • Requires a basic technical background/knowledge and good people skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Project management and business systems analysis methodologies/best practices. 
  • Basic understanding on delivery and support of enterprise class systems and support of the end-user community.
