Job Summary

The University of Michigan Medical School Departments of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics and Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences are partnering to seek outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position.  Successful candidates will establish independent, interdisciplinary research programs at the interface of vision science and computational medicine to address basic and translational research in the biology of vision, with the ultimate goal of improving lives by preserving and enhancing vision. This position focuses on ocular informatics, including genetic and integrative -omic studies of eye development and disease. The candidate is expected to have expertise in systems/network biology, multi-omic integrative analysis of disease mechanisms, or development of innovative bioinformatics methods. The position is in the instructional (tenure) track and is full-time. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. 

Required Qualifications*

Successful candidates will have a PhD and/or MD degree, or equivalent, in areas as described above.  Publications, funding record, a detailed research plan, collaborative experience, and demonstrated interest in graduate and post-doctoral education will be essential components of the application.

The position is for the instructional tenure track at the ranks of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/ Professor and is full-time.  Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Candidates applying for the rank of assistant or associate professor are particularly encouraged to apply.
