Job Summary

The College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office at the University of Michigan-Flint is seeking to hire a work-study eligible student(s) to fill a work study office assistant position(s). This position will require the student to perform different clerical duties for the Spring17 and Summer 17 semesters. There may be an opportunity for continued work-study employment after the listed employment period has ended. The student should be able to:

  • Perform routine clerical and reception work. 
  • Greet and assist students and faculty in a professional and courteous manner. 
  •  Answer multi-line phone and take accurate messages.
  • File, make copies, scanning, some typing, campus errands. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Required Qualifications*

  • Must be a current UM-Flint student
  • The ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently, work independently, be eager and willing to learn, and will not hesitate to ask questions.
  • Applicants must have a current Work Study award through the University of Michigan-Flint Financial Aid office for Spring 17 and Summer 17.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel).
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service
  • Ability to relate well with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • The ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently, work independently, be eager and willing to learn, and will not hesitate to ask questions.
  • Must be available to work afternoons

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience in an office environment.
