Two research technician positions are available to work on child nutrition projects in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. The research technicians will implement research protocols with mothers and their 9-12 year old children to better understand parent/child interactions around food. Data collection will occur in Ann Arbor and in the field, often at community agencies throughout southeastern Michigan.
The research technicians will support subject recruitment and study enrollment, discuss and answer questions about the study protocol with parents and children, conduct videotaped research protocols, interact with parents and children to administer questionnaires, collect anthropometric measurements, assist with study organization and maintenance of study supplies and equipment, and perform data entry using Excel, Qualtrics, and Redcap.
Salary Range: $12-$14 hourly rate. TBD depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours/Week: Approximately 10 Hours/Week. More hours may be available upon request.
Shift/Hours/Days: M-F, but may include some weekends; will require up to 3 evenings (until 9pm) per week. Will extend through the summer months.
Bachelor's degree in nutrition, psychology, public health or related field, and prior experience conducting human subjects research is required. This position requires great attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with study participants.
A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
Experience working directly with children and/or low-income families.
Experience with data management using Excel, Qualtrics, or Redcap.
