Job Summary

Wolverine Pathways Application Process Manager

Compensation: $24/hour

The University of Michigan Wolverine Pathways program was established to increase the high school graduation rate, college acceptance and retention rates of academically promising scholars in Ypsilanti, Southfield and Detroit.  The Program is in need of an individual to manage the application review process. This position is full time for the first three months, with the possibility of becoming part time thereafter.  This position has the potential to become permanent.


Manage the review of applications completed by 7th and 10th grade students for admission into the program.  This includes:

Becoming familiar with established rubric for evaluating applicants
Becoming familiar with FluidReview, the system used for applications
Adapting the system for the needs of the application review process
Hiring, training and supervising temporary application readers (first level of review)
Managing applicant workflow to secondary reviewers
Managing the final decision process for admitting scholars
Notifying scholars of admissions
Working with the evaluation and assessment analyst to ensure that data from the Fluid Review system is complete, accurate, and readily transferred for analysis

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s degree.  Experience managing administrative processes.  Experience managing staff.  Comfortable working with online tools.  Demonstrated strength with written and oral communication.  Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast paced environment.  Ability to adapt and change as needs arise. 

Desired Qualifications*

Experience as an educator, or in the education arena.  Experience working with student applications.  Experience working at the University of Michigan.
