We provide exceptional customer service in an ambulatory care setting.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families with direct clinic management to result in efficient patient flow. Selected candidate must excel in patient intake, information gathering, direct patient care, data entry, and patient preparation for visits. Additionally other responsibilities: medication review, vital signs, EKG's, performing and/or assisting with complex procedures, collecting and processing specimens, sterilization/cleaning of equipment, extensive high level disinfection of endoscopes, stocking rooms and overall maintenance of patient care area. Performs other assignments such as opening processes (QC testing), supply inventory, and patient calls.
Selected candidate will provide information to patients as directed and manage time appropriately.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and 0-1 years of experience.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Individual must exhibit a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty and staff. They must also adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct, possess excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate the abilty to interact with a diverse population.
Candidate must be able to work effectively within a team environment handling multiple responsbilities in a fast paced environment. In addition, candidate must demostrate problem solving skills, proficient computer and keyboarding skills, proper telephone etiquette along with having a history of excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
- Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record systems.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Prior experience in an outpatient ambulatory care setting.
This position is 5 days per week (M-F). Some overtime may be occasionally necessary.
