Environmental Education Program Leader to assist in leading seasonal environmental education programs for local school children and other public visitors at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC). All programs take place outdoors in the campus Environmental Study Area.
Assist the UM-D Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) in leading seasonal environmental education programs for local school groups and other public visitors. All programs take place outdoors in the campus Environmental Study Area.
-set-up and clean-up equipment needed for educational programs
-lead science-based, field-oriented, outdoor educational programs
-work as part of a team of environmental educators to accomplish education objectives
-effectively communicating program content in an appropriate and professional manner
-represent the university community to the public in a manner that is welcoming, enthusiastic, and mature
-demonstrate the ability to independently lead and supervise groups of 10-15 school children, ages 5 to 15, in a safe and effective manner
UM-D students involved in academic programs related to education and the environment may apply. Job training is provided by full time interpretive naturalists at the EIC.
