The UM-Dearborn Psychology discipline requires students in Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 101) to perform several hours as research participants or complete a set of equivalent assignments. The Subject Pool Coordinator manages the process of setting up and scheduling experimental sessions for participation by introductory psychology students. The Subject Pool Coordinator’s responsibilities include: posting Subject Pool information and policies on the Behavioral Science Department’s webpages; scheduling and posting notice of experimental sessions on a daily basis on the Psychology Experiment Management System (SONA) website; tracking students’ experimental participations and absences; evaluating students’ journal article summaries; and reporting participation credits to students’ instructors for their use in determining final grades in their courses.
