Job Summary

TempTrak is a wireless temperature monitoring system used throughout UM Hospitals. The system monitors, alarms, and trends temperatures (mostly from freezers and refrigerators containing medications, blood, or food) to meet regulatory, safety, or compliance reporting requirements. The system consists of battery-operated temperature sensors that communicate wirelessly to a network of TempTrak base stations and repeaters. These base stations are wired to the HITS network and communicate with the TempTrak server running in the HITS data center.
The Facilities Systems Monitoring group has been designated the business owner of the TempTrak monitoring system. The Business Analyst will be responsible for implementing a centralized support and governance model for TempTrak, developing standard user policies, training, and will serve as the primary system administrator.


  • Provide leadership and governance for use and support of the Temp Trak software system for effective management and coordination between all various clinical departments using the system, Facilities support services, and HITS support services. Develop use policies and train new system users. Act as primary system access administrator.
  • Responsible for network security compliance for all Facilities owned devices. Coordinate with HITS, Facilities teams, and IT Service Providers for coordination, uptime maximization, and issue resolution.
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting for Facilities applications supporting maintenance and operations service delivery.
  • Author and maintain IT-centric documentation and device inventory, application specific policies and procedures for Facilities systems.

Required Qualifications*

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT discipline and 5+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
