The candidates will be responsible for carrying out in vivo and in vitro physiology/pharmacology experiments in rodent models of metabolic disorders. He/she will be accountable for evaluating metabolic phenotypes in these models, specifically for assessment of whole body and organ insulin sensitivity using euglycemic- hyperinsulinemic clamp with 3H- and 14C- labeled tracers. The candidates should have hands-on experience and expertise in in vivo physiology/pharmacology and in handling of rodents in particular, including microsurgery and intravascular infusion in conscious mice and/or rats. The candidate will analyze scientific results, provide oral and written reports.
BS or MS degree in physiology, pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology, or related discipline; strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication, and ability to ultimately work with minimal supervision in an organized fashion are essential. Capacity to work collaboratively with investigators in a multidisciplinary academic setting is critical. Some occasional weekend work will be required.
