Provide care for a variety of adult medicine & surgical patients requiring acute nursing care for 8-72 hours.
Included among the patient populations serviced by these units are post-procedural patients and patients who originate from the Emergency Department and will require close observation, assessment and teaching. In addition care is provided to palliative care patients that are housed on this unit. Patients may have arrhythmias necessitating a proficiency in cardiac assessment and monitoring or a willingness to learn about them.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Current license to practice nursing in Michigan is required.
Eighteen (18) months of current (within the past five (5) years) adult telemetry inpatient RN experience.
Eighteen (18) months of current (within the past five (5) years) adult med/surg inpatient RN experience.
Documented ability to effectively communicated with patients, families and members of the health care team.

Hours/Week :20 hours, hours will be a mixture of 8 hr and possibly some 12hr shifts
Shift/Hours: Day/Night rotation and two out of four weekends per month

* Note: The SSU unit operates 24 hrs a day, 6 days a week. All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
