8A3 is an acute care unit that cares for Hematology/Oncology patients as well as Surgical patients on the Gynecology/Oncology and Surgical services.
We provide comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant disorders of the hematopoietic system such as Leukemia, Blood Disorders, Multiple Myeloma and Myeloproliferative Disorders.
This patient population provides a wide variety of medical/surgical experiences while focusing on the specialty of Oncology. All nurses on this unit receive Hospital certification for Chemotherapy administration.

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Nursing Specific Info
Current Michigan RN license. Graduate Nurse applicants will be considered. Condition of hire for Graduate Nurses: Selected GN must successfully pass N-CLEX and be licensed as an RN in the state of Michigan no later than 45 days from date of hire.

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation skills, and problem-solving skills.
**GN applicants will be considered. The selected candidate must have successfully passed the NCLEX and be licensed as a RN in the State of Michigan before effective date of hire.

Oncology experience preferred
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift: Day/Night Rotation (12hr shifts)
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
