The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) provides students an opportunity to work as research assistants on faculty-generated projects. UROP awards students stipends of up to $500 a semester, or up to $1500 per academic year. Students are paid bi-weekly at an hourly rate negotiated between them and the faculty project sponsor. Work-study funding may also be used for UROP. Salaries range between $10.00-$15.00 per hour.
UROP positions are ONLY open to UM-Flint students with undergraduate status.
Additionally, qualified applicants are required to do the following:
- Obtain certification in the "Research Practice Foundations" module of PEERRS: www.umflint.edu/research/peerrs. (NOTE: Additional modules may be required, depending on the project).
- Fully complete and submit a UROP Contract as proof of finding a project.
- Attend a UROP introductory orientation as a part of the interview process.
- WORK-STUDY students must have been awarded work-study funding for the 2016-2017 academic year.
UROP positions will only be offered to candidates who meet these requirements.
This posting is for Spring UROP. The last day to apply for Spring UROP is Saturday, June 3, 2017. UROP stipends will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
