Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position - Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences, University of Michigan
The Center for Ultrafast Optical Science at the University of Michigan has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This is a one year appointment, potentially renewable for a second year contingent on funding/performance. The fellow will augment an existing Vlasov-Fokker-Planck plasma simulation code to include a realistic equation-of-state and resistivity in a hybrid fluid background model and to perform novel calculations of electron transport in warm-dense-matter states.
The successful candidate should have earned a PhD in Plasma Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering. Experience required in plasma simulation, particularly Vlasov or Vlasov-Fokker-Planck simulation and ability to code in C/C++/Fortran and MPI
