Job Summary

The University of Michigan-Flint Department of Computer Science, Engineering, and Physics (CSEP) anticipates the need for part-time Lecturer I starting fall 2017 for undergraduate course instruction in algebra-based College Physics I or II and/or calculus-based Principles of Physics I or II.  The course schedule for each section varies, falling on two to three days a week, sometime between 9:00 AM and 6:10 PM with the latest start time at 4:00 PM.  The adopted text for the algebra-based courses is College Physics: A Strategic Approach Technology Update, 3rd ed. by Knight, Jones, and Field.  The adopted text for the calculus-based courses is Physics for Scientists and Engineers: A Strategic Approach, 3rd ed., Knight.  The budget for these courses is for the fall 2017 semester only, September 5 – December 20, 2017.

Minimum Salary for this position is $3,413.

Required Qualifications*

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a graduate degree in physics. Preference will be given to those demonstrating a history of teaching excellence.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
