Job Summary

The Michigan Center for Translational Pathology is seeking a Scientific Writer to develop, research, compose, edit and complete a wide range and variety of writing/editing assignments such as research projects, proposals, reports, correspondence, articles, and presentations for our interdisciplinary Center. Responsibility for preparation of the scientific portion of grant proposals for the consideration of state and federal agencies and private foundations will be a major portion of the position.  The successful candidate must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced dynamic environment and able to work independently. 


  • Write and/or edit scientific content for grant proposals, reports, correspondence, articles and presentations. This will include figure development and editing of manuscripts by other lab members.
  • Assist PI with grant application scientific writing and progress report development.
  • Assist in the clinical sequencing reporting process for our Mi-Oncoseq Project.

Required Qualifications*

Degree in biological science with a 2 - 5 years’ professional experience.  A strong record of contribution to research proposals and publications, the ability to work in a team environment, excellent oral and written communications skills in English.

Desired Qualifications*

Preference would be given to candidates with a PhD or Master’s degree in the biological sciences and expertise in cancer biology and/or cancer genomics.
