This position provides customer service and program support to the Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute.


Institute Support

> Provide administrative support to the department including all forms of correspondence on behalf of the department with professional, academic and administrative personnel, staff, students and the public

> Assist with presentation materials

> Assist with coordinating and scheduling individual meetings

> File program related materials

> Provide onsite event support

> Contact and confirm speakers for program events

> Summarize participant evaluations

> Provide assistance in editing and compiling curricular materials

> Input data for program related projects

> Order office/printer supplies

> Run and distribute routine departmental reports

Customer Service

> Respond to general inquiries related to the Institute

> Greet visitors

> Answer telephone, take messages, and forward calls

> Answer/maintain general email account

Advisory Board Meetings

> Manage communications with advisory board members and their assistants

> Coordinate logistics for the meetings, including hotel, restaurant, and meeting venue selection, printing and gathering of materials, and determining dates based on everyone’s availability


> Assist with special projects

Required Qualifications*


> High school diploma

Desired Qualifications*

> Minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

> Demonstrated project management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail

> Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative

> Team-oriented, flexible and customer-service oriented manner

> Proven ability to successfully interact with a diverse group of people

> Excellent written communication skills

> Ability to work effectively in a high-stress fast paced environment

> Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
