Provide patient care to patients receiving various medical procedures including, but not limited to endoscopy procedures.
Coordinate nursing care between the pre-procedure, procedure and post procedures phases.
Administer sedation/analgesia under the direction of a physician.
Assess and document hemodynamic status during sedation and recovery periods. Initiate peripheral intravenous lines.

Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan.
Two (2) years nursing experience in an acute Medical/Surgical setting within the past five (5) years.

GI endoscopy nursing experience in an acute care setting, experience in a post-anesthesia unit, ability to initiate peripheral intravenous lines, effective verbal and written communication skills, certification in endoscopy.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with others as measured by interview, references and performance evaluations.
Current ACLS certification.
Completion of IV sedation course.
Hours: 36 hrs/wk
Shift: Days; 12 hour shifts; Monday- Friday, Variable days and variable hours between 7am-8:30pm.
* Some evening and weekend on-call required
* Some Holiday on-call required
Location: Medical Procedures Unit, University Hospital
