The University of Michigan-Flint Physical Therapy Department is seeking applications for the 2017 Fall Semester for a Lecturer I as the primary instructor to teach PTP 892 Management in Physical Therapy Practice.

Responsibilities*

Estimated salary for this position is $2,835 to teach one course.

The LEO faculty member will be responsible for conducting lectures and create and administer all assignments and written exams for this course.  The expertise of the LEO faculty member will be utilized in meeting course objectives for modules related to the application of management theory, principles and practice to physical therapy; direction and supervision of human resources; financial management of the practice, business plans, marketing and public relations, consultation and legal and regulatory requirements.

NOTE: This position is subject to the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement between the University of Michigan and the Lecturers Employees Organization (LEO) AFT/MFT and SRO Local 6244, AFL-CIO.

Required Qualifications*

  1. Graduate of a CAPTE accredited (or its equivalent) professional PT program.
  2. Currently licensed as a physical therapist in a US jurisdiction.
  3. Bachelor or Master degree will be considered with appropriate contemporary expertise.
  4. 36 months of post-licensure clinical experience and contemporary expertise in the application of management theory, principles and practice to physical therapy.

Desired Qualifications*

Doctoral degree is preferred.

Member of APTA preferred.
