Responsibilities*

This position will work in our check out area scheduling follow-up visits which also includes chemotherapy treatments, radiology tests and other ancillary testing. This also includes scheduling from the Inbasket, reschedule work lists and other clerical duties as assigned.

This position is in our Gold Team which includes Breast Care Center, Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology. Cross training at check in is also expected.

Required Qualifications*

  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Previous clerical/medical records experience in an outpatient clinical setting is necessary.
  • General office practices, ability to understand medical documentation and general knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Candidate must be an active team player and be able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are required along with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated record of excellent attendance.
  • Exhibits professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, and staff. Able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated active listen, and information technology skills.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical terms, testing and procedures is desired. 
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic is desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook, MiChart and other computer systems.
  • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting. 
  • Familiarity with Michigan Medicine's electronic medical record systems. 

Work Schedule

8:00-4:30 M-F
