A research lab technician position is available immediately to study genetics and immunopathogenesis of psoriasis and other chronic inflammatory skin disorders. Our lab studies gene sequencing, functional analyses of identified mutations, cell prolifferation and responses in inflammation. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a background in molecular biology, genetics and immunology.
The successful candidate will provide a wide variety of complex technical lab support for several research projects that will involve studying genetic mutations predisposing to psoriasis, transfections and genetic modification of human cells including monocytes, T-cells and keratinocytes. Participate in flow cytometric analyses and work on single-cell RNA sequencing. Assist in evaluating lab methods, procedures, and techniques based on established objectives. In addition to these research roles, this individual will also be involved with general lab maintenance roles, including the organization and maintenance of lab supplies and equipment and general lab upkeep.
- High school diploma or Associate's degree and 1 to 2 years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong cell and molecular biology knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in RNA/DNA isolation, QRTPCR
- Proficiency in immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence
- Experience handling and working with mice
- Strong organization and multitasking skills
- Ability and willingness to learn and implement novel experimental techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of laboratory safety
- Bachelor's degree
- Team player, works well with others
- Able to follow instructions
- Clear communication
Full time -- minimal flexible hours -- mostly 8:00-5:00. Weekends not required.
