Job Summary

General Responsibilities:

Set up and operate audio visual equipment; maintain customer relations; ensure proper event set-ups; enforce safety and fire regulations.

Specific Duties:

1. Open and lock rooms as needed
2. Enforce safety and fire regulations
3. Perform and/or assist during building operations
4. Maintain customer relations
5. Ensure proper event set-ups
6. Oversee a specific area
7. Set-up and operate audio visual equipment including internal and portable sound systems and smart carts
8. Provide information to students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding policies, programs, and services.
9. Perform routine administrative tasks related to programs and services
10. General room clean up if needed
11. At beverage service events, assist bartenders by stocking bar supplies when needed, monitoring alcohol consumption and cleaning tables
12. Post room cards and event signs on announcement boards before closing building

Required Qualifications*

1. Must be a UM-Flint student
2. Ability to relate well with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
3. AV experience desired
4. Ability to provide high quality customer service under varying conditions
5. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
6. Ability to work under minimal supervision
7. 6 months supervisory experience or ability to demonstrate skills
