The School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) is seeking an individual to fill the roll of part-time Assistant Editor Associate for the journal of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (ET&C).
Support: The primary function of this position is to provide editorial and administrative support to the editorial office of the journal.
Editorial: Prepare files for online publication. Edit manuscripts, tables, and figures to ensure submissions adhere to the journal’s style guidelines and standards of quality. Work with the authors on questionable text and references, providing suggestions for revisions. Track manuscripts through production and publication and help maintain electronic databases.
Communication: Provide immediate assistance to authors, reviewers, and editors on journal-related matters. Manage and grow the journal's social media presence.
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 1-2 years of publishing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong editing skills and high comfort level reading academic and scientific writing
- Ability to prioritize assignments and multitask
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of CSE editorial style and ScholarOne Manuscript's web-based peer review management system preferred
