We are seeking an individual to join the Law School’s finance team. This position reports to Finance Manager. The person is primarily responsible for providing procurement and accounting support for the school. This position works with faculty, staff and students.
- Prepare procurement forms, vouchers, travel and expenses reimbursement forms, wire transfers, PeoplePay and purchase orders.
- Work with Shared Services Center on Concur report submissions.
- Handle daily deposit needs of the school.
- Prepare internal billing statements and maintain QuickBooks records.
- Set up and maintain record retention for the finance group or other law school departments.
- Be the primary contact for ordering supplies.
- Run monthly financial statements for faculty and staff.
- Prepare journal entries as requested.
- Work with various departments on account reconciliations.
- Serve as backup for other business and financial operation duties.
- Assist manager with other tasks as assigned.
Associate’s degree in accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field or role requiring timeliness, accuracy, customer service, organization, prioritization, troubleshooting, strong attention to detail, efficient data entry skills, flexibility and ability to work independently.
Proven success in team-based work environment is essential.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
Demonstrate proficiency with current computer technology and applications, including Microsoft Office tools.
Will be handling sensitive information; must be able to respect the confidentiality of the data and records.
Strong ability to multitask between various duties throughout a work day.
Experience working in the University or in a non-profit organization is highly desirable.
Broad knowledge of MPathways/PeopleSoft (or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system)
Familiarity with administrative processes, procedures, and systems at the University of Michigan.
