Job Summary

Provides professional nursing leadership and administrative direction in the Outpatient Dialysis Program at the Livonia Center for Specialty Care.  Participates as a member of leadership teams to provide and continually improve health care services and to support the mission and goals of Michigan Dialysis Services, LLC and the Health System.

Responsibilities*

Oversees facility’s In-center and Home Therapies Program encompassing the following:
Recruit, hire, manage, supervise and coordinate all staff for in-center, home hemodialysis and home hemodialysis.
Plan, assign and review the work of nursing and support staff.
Counsel, develop and evaluate the performance of all clinical and ancillary staff.
Provide leadership for the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of nursing practice and for interdisciplinary clinical guidelines, using best evidence.
In collaboration with other members of the leadership teams, identify and plan for staffing consistent with needs of the patient population and budgetary requirements and appropriate to the scopes of a variety of roles.
Participate in and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of interdisciplinary patient care activities and programs.
Work collaboratively with the Medical Director and administrative manager to identify and resolve unit operational problems and process improvements.
Plan, coordinate and evaluate LEAN initiatives and other quality improvement activities.
Facilitate education of nursing leadership students.
Evaluate and manage clinical equipment and recommend necessary expenditures.
Assure compliance with affirmative action, regulatory, legal, patient care and safety programs.
Provides written documentation of all disciplinary conferences in accordance with the established personnel policies and confers with HR regarding the nature of the disciplinary decisions.
Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI)
Ensures Clinical Quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by the facility staff.
Develops facility specific action plans in order to achieve quality standards.

Required Qualifications*

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
Required Educational Requirement:
Master’s degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business or  related field (a Juris Doctor degree may be considered) 
If Master’s degree is not in Nursing, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required 
 
Four or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience. 
Six months of dialysis experience.
One or more years in a nursing supervisor or management position.
Demonstrated ability to promote professional working relationships with outstanding communication skills and demonstrated advanced leadership skills. 
Demonstrated team building, conflict resolution, decision-making and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated strong understanding of regulatory requirements
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills

Desired Qualifications*

Two or more years in a nursing supervisor or management position. 
Two or more years in an ambulatory care setting, including clinics, physicians' offices or similar setting. 
Experience working with a variety of roles, including advanced practice nurses, assistive personnel and specialized RN roles. 
Experience in Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis desired.
Demonstrated leadership in professional activities.  
Knowledge of and competence using electronic health records.
Master’s degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business or related field (a Juris Doctor degree may be considered)
 

Work Schedule

Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: Shift and hours will vary based on unit needs
Location: Outpatient Dialysis Program- Livonia Center for Specialty Care
