Responsibilities*

Support physician investigators who conduct cancer clinical trials initiated by industry, consortia, cooperative groups, or investigators themselves. Dissect protocol; identify and represent treatment items and services on MBECT billing calendar. Review consent, protocol, study calendar and budgets to ensure alignment and capture all applicable items and services. Meet with PI to determine payment responsibilities (insurance v. study). Provide direction to PI regarding accounting and budgeting responsibilities. Interface as needed with study team and stakeholders (CTO, IDS, MBECT, MICHR, Divisions, Departments, Medical School, ORSP) regarding study needs and logistics. Prepare and negotiate study budgets, payment terms, and certain contract items with sponsors. Facilitate internal review process. Prepare ePAF and route in eResearch Proposal Management system (eRPM). Maintain internal logs and records (approved budget/payment schedule, ORSP award and change notices, final contract versions, etc.). Assist post-award team as needed.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years’ experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  
  • Strong computer knowledge including MS Office.
  • Experience in pre-award activities related to clinical research.

  • The ability to analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of UM computer systems and reporting tools is preferred.

Work Schedule

40 hours/week. Days / Monday - Friday/ TBD. Sick/Vacation.
