This is a 3-year, term limited position.
- Apply project management, communication, and consultative skills to collaborate with faculty, course teams, and media specialists to deliver high quality digital and blended learning experiences for online and residential initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Academic Innovation team to document project goals, personas, design briefs, research opportunities, and production plans.
- Develop project plans and timelines for course production and provide weekly project status updates to initiative team members.
- Ensure the timely delivery and consistency of instructional materials, assessments and engagement tools available for students of online and blended courses.
- Create, disseminate, and maintain resources, policies and procedures for faculty to provide guidance and aid in the creation of digital course materials.
- Assist with quality assurance reviews of courses on learning platforms.
- Maintain records of course documents and materials, ensuring all course documents are complete, stored and archived appropriately.
- Coordinate external contractors, vendors, temporary personnel, etc., to administer support services for online education.
- Work collaboratively with copyright personnel, accessibility experts, design teams, faculty, and third party vendors to ensure that the digital content of Academic Innovation initiatives complies with our policies and practices.
- Participate in conversations on campus around digital learning, instructional design, project management and other topics related to carrying out the vision and mission of the Office of Academic Innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of project management experience in a higher education setting, or equivalent combination of experience in educational technology, instructional design, information science or consulting
- Ability to analyze and align technology solutions with instructional need, current educational and technological trends, and campuswide goals/priorities and infrastructure
- Familiarity with: Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Open Educational Resources (OER), Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Coursera, Canvas, edX and other educational platforms
- Enthusiasm for technology enhanced learning in the context of a public residential research university
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage workload under time constraints and conflicting demands
- Ability to work well in a multicultural and collaborative environment
- Understanding of copyright regulations in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of accessibility regulations and related tools and techniques e.g. video captioning, descriptive audio, screen readers
- Strong commitment to problem solving, teamwork and the ability to act independently
- Master’s degree and 5 or more years of related experience (educational technology, instructional design, information science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a research focused university setting
- Supervisory experience in the context of digital education
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, technology and standards of digital media production
- Pedagogical knowledge of online and hybrid teaching, including instructional design theory and blended delivery
- Demonstrated experience with work productivity tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Teamwork, Gantt charts)
