The Information Technology Services department is seeking applications for a part-time computer lab proctor. This position delivers high-quality customer service and support across campus at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. As front-end support for campus computer labs, individuals will be involved in assisting students and maintaining the general functionality of lab equipment.

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities:

Proctors are responsible for providing assistance and advice to students regarding software applications, proper computer usage, and troubleshooting printing concerns in a computer lab environment. Responsibilities include :

? Providing customer service to students who have questions or concerns relating to computer use

? Assisting with log-in problems

? Ensuring the security and safety of lab computers.

? Reporting major technical issues in the computer lab to the ITS Helpdesk

? Replacing printer toner cartridges, clearing jams, and filling paper.

? Checking lab supply inventory and requesting stock.

? Organizing and cleaning the computer lab equipment and furniture.

Required Qualifications*

Required Qualifications:

University of Michigan – Dearborn student in good standing, knowledge of computer usage and experience using Microsoft Office and Google Apps. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service attitude, Excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt to new situations.

Work Schedule

Shift/Hours/Days: Work shifts are varied and scheduled according to openings in your class schedule Sunday-Saturday.
