The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is looking for a temporary office assistant who would work from September through April or May 2018. The position is ½ time (20 hours per week) and will include small and large projects that require strong skills in Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
An example of the projects includes 1) putting together a list of past students/postdoctoral fellows, researching where they are currently working, finding contact information, and updating a spreadsheet; 2) putting together a PowerPoint presentation for onboarding purposes; and 3) assisting with faculty recruiting and seminar speakers including walking them from meeting to meeting and updating Excel files with relevant information; 3) other duties as assigned.
The selected candidate will require strong skills in Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The right candidate will be joining a strong administrative team where great customer service is our goal. The selected person should have significant experience putting together spreadsheets. Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to work independently and as a team are also very important.
