The staff of the Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital are committed to the care of antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum women and their newborns, in an environment that supports and empowers families. Low and high risk care is provided in a labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum (LDRP) setting.
Common diagnoses include normal labor and birth, cesarean section, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, preterm labor, multiple births, bleeding disorders, and congenital anomalies of the fetus. Eight hour, twelve hour and a combination of eight and twelve hour positions are offered.

Nursing Specific Info

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C (Includes B).
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
One year of current experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
Ability to work up to 40 hours/week and Day shift/ A-shift (7 AM to 7:30 PM) during orientation.

Desired Qualifications*

Experience in critical care nursing desired.
Current experience in inpatient perinatal nursing.
Current experience as a Registered Nurse in an LDR/LDRP setting.
Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring course.
Demonstrated ability to work in an extremely fast-paced, unpredictable patient care environment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage conflict within an interdisciplinary team in meeting patient care needs.
BSN preferred.

Work Schedule

Hours per week:  36 hrs
Shift/Hours/Days: Night Shift; 12 hour shifts; Monday through Friday and rotating weekends
Location: Von Voigtlander Women's Birth Center- 9 East & 9 West

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
