Job Summary

Clerical tasks that require an excellent telephone presence, basic typing, computer and data entry skills. Schedule and reschedule patients in Cadence. Confirm referring and/or primary care physician information. Gather and verify patient demographics, insurance and other pertinent information. Greet patients and check them in for appointments using Cadence.

Appointment: 40 hours/week
Shift/Hours/Days: Monday – Friday hours vary between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm
Location: Diagnostic Vascular Unit – UH

Perform clerical functions in a busy diagnostic testing setting. This position may require floating between the Cardiovascular Center and University Hospital.

Gather and verify patient demographics, insurance and other pertinent information. Greet patients and check them in for appointments using Cadence. 

Required Qualifications*

Ability to work in a fast paced, customer friendly environment.  Clerical experience preferably in a medical setting.  High school diploma or GED.   Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and availability to work a flexible work schedule.

Desired Qualifications*

Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful. Previous experience with computerized scheduling systems, basic computer applications, and multiple phones line is desired. Knowledge of medical records and appointment scheduling systems is preferred.
